The smell of storage

Near the end of 2017, I received my friend's invitation, hoping to share some of my catering industry's experience to his young friends who were thinking about opening restaurant. The restaurant is semi-open, mainly for sale fast food, and it is near the famous school district. From the north along a short way there is the world-class top Hong Kong University! So students are the main source of customers. As a competent dietary consultant, I must understand their ideas and give them feasible advice.

First of all, encourage them to draw up menus, “Simple and favorable of a meal,” “Suffer for a meal,” and “Prequel of lunch.”... During the concussion, young people thought endlessly and sometimes their ghost idea to make me laugh. Don't stop! But I hope to make their ideas as feasible suggestions as possible. “Simple and favorable of a meal,” can think of canned food, when I was studied in my childhood, the most favorite pan-fried thick cut luncheon meat with a deep pan-fried egg, topping with secret soy sauce. It's really delicious! “Suffer for a meal”? As the Cantonese saying is "eat a dead cat's noodles." It means "so anger",the taste with dry fire of meat. It should be my favorite the frying minced pork sauce noodle with Taiwan style! "Prequel of lunch"? Soon to think of "All Day Breakfast" that is so popular in recent years! All of the things like a riddle puzzle and unleash it one by one!

At the time of smug complacency, they had new ideas that would have strangled a born in 60's of chef. Instead of using Plastic takeaway articles, they would use biodegradable materials, including all cutlery, takeaway boxes, vest bags and garbage bags! What? All use biodegradable materials! As far as I know, besides the high price, garbage bags are difficult to find in the market!

In Hong Kong, most people have the same missions:  fast, fine and cheap! Environmental protection is violation of wishes and even projects that the government is unwilling to promote, just have formal education only. None of   people are willing to like salmon go upstream and spawning!

The restaurant heads south to the junction of Des Voeux Road West and West Side Street. It was the Da Tong Restaurant in 35 years ago, where I started my catering life, the site has been changed to Star Seafood Restaurant. I recall that I was only 15 years old when I was  studied in the secondary school. Everyone knew me that I was not a well study student. And I liked to participate in the school's gardening club. One day, I brought some luffa to home from the school and fried with sliced pork. After the family members had eaten and were applauded to me. In this way, I haven't finished my secondary school and have worked in the Da Tong restaurant's kitchen! All of a sudden memories brought me back to 35 years ago!

The evening sunlight refract in front of my eyes and can not see anything. I block sunlight by my hand subconsciously. Suddenly remembering the election of HKSAR Chief Executive Administrator, the candidate take a double decker bus , block sunlight by his hand and facing his supporters through Facebook live. I even donated the first crowdfunding at Fringebacker because I believe in his philosophy! Like this time crowdfunding, I believe that the era has paved the way for this generation, and the smell of storage will once again be distributed!
